Virtual Reality

Description

VR Virtual Reality – Cube3D²

Virtual realties, often called immersive systems, are able to illustrate complex issues and visualize specific situations. In conjunction with 3D-animations or interactive characters diverse applications arise. The participant can navigate through a virtual room, for example a city or a museum. It is also possible to move objects within the virtual reality because of “real” events. This is the case with moving avatars for example.

Cube3D² - 3D video projection system including tracking through two infrared cameras

The Cube3D² (digital IMAGE) is a projector for presenting tree-dimensional images which are projected onto a screen. The participant has to wear shutter glasses to create the 3D impression. The Cube3D² communicates with one or more glasses via infrared transmitter and tells the glasses which eye currently “sees”. The movement detection and control in virtual reality is based on cameras and a target (consisting of 4 spheres). The 3D effect is impressively plastic and always flicker-free. The intensity of the 3D effect is adjustable and in the beginning it should not be too pronounced for the inexperienced viewer, otherwise headaches may occur or the tree-dimensional impression may not even happen.
